After leaving university, I was out assisting photographers and gaining valuable industry experience. No doubt as experience goes, could I have got a much better gig to offer me that valuable working experience was working for Norwich City during their Premier League campaign.
I was their official photographer for a year, offering them action sports photography pitch side at all games, as well as ah-hoc portraits of the managers and players. The opportunity to capture some of football's biggest names in action is an experience I'll never forget. As my working experience goes, it shone a light on the photography industry for me of how I need to work, conduct myself around high-profile people, and also expectation management. All key things I value today.
The shooting experience was also fantastic. Football matches offer a unique pressure when you need to capture a moment in a really high-paced environment, and takes skill to do this.
